THE IMPORTANCE OF VALUES AND MORALS IN ONE’S LIFE Every one knows that life is precious – that life is important. We all protect our life because we care for it more than anything else. If life is so important, the values of life are even more important. Values are guiding principles, or standards of behaviour which are regarded desirable, important and held in high esteem by a particular society in which a person lives. Values make up who you are. They define your character. That makes them important. People have many different values for many different reasons. Some have the same values, some may place more of a value on one thing than another. This is what differs us from one person to the next. Values are shaped and formed through†¦show more content†¦No matter how rich or poor a person is, if they have personal values such as, accomplishments, they will live longer and healthier lives. That fulfillment that everyone desires in life comes from the values we produce, not the opinion of others. You might not have much money, but you go out of your way to fulfill your life by doing something you enjoy. You might be rich, and use that to your advantage to help others find a value for themselves in life. My point being: you cannot be happy, love, care, have compassion without personal values. It reflects on back onto ourselves in the absence of it, and fill the very nature of who we are. We must remember the â€Å"Chinese Proverb†. If there is righteousness in the heart, there will be beauty in character, if there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home, when there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation, when there is order in the nation there will be peace in the world. A person with proper values will not be afraid to face problems. He or she will expect and accept them as part of life. He or she will not give unnecessary importance to anything that happens in life. He or she will have complete faith in God. Such a person will be an example to the rest.
